Smash Burger Tostadas

Ingredients
  

Smash Burger Tostadas

  • 8 tortillas
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil, for cooking (more or less, as needed)

Toppings (Optional/customize to your liking!)

  • cheese
  • special sauce (see blog post for my recipe!)
  • coleslaw (see blog post for my recipe!)
  • onion
  • pickles
  • lettuce
  • bacon
  • avocado
  • tomato

Instructions
 

  • Note: I love to meal prep these! I typically prepare the meat (as well as the other ingredients) and keep it in the fridge to make 2 at a time throughout the week.
  • Combine the ground beef with the spices and gently mix it together with your fingers to ensure the meat doesn't get tough. Then, separate the meat into 8 equal balls.
  • Add a drizzle of oil to a pan over medium heat.
  • Smash one meatball onto one tortilla getting it as flat and covering as much of the surface area as you can.
  • Place the tortilla meat side down and cook until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Flip to the other side and allow for the tortilla to cook until crispy. If you are using cheese, add it at this time so it melts.
  • Once the meat is cooked and the tortilla is crispy, remove from the pan and top with your favorite toppings.
