Ingredients

Apple Filling
  • 3 cups apple slices (you can peel them if you'd like, but I like to leave the skin on!)
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp tapioca starch or arrowroot
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
Crumble Topping
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp cassava flour
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter or ghee, melted (can use dairy free as needed)
  • ¼ tsp salt

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375℉
  2. Slice 3 cups worth of apples (I typically use gala, but your favorite variety will work).
  3. Add the apple slices to a bowl then toss with the apple filling ingredients until the apple slices are evenly covered. Add the apples to a small baking dish.
  4. Combine crumble ingredients and mix until clumps form.
  5. Crumble the topping on top of the apple slices.
  6. Bake the crumble for 30-40 minutes (depending on your oven, be sure to check on it!). It will be ready when the apples are sizzling and the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve with ice cream and a caramel drizzle if you'd like. It's best served right out of the oven!
