Caramel Apple Latte

Total Time 30 minutes
Course Coffee, Drinks
Servings 1 drink

Ingredients

Homemade Caramel Apple Syrup

  • 1 cup 100% apple juice
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar (can sub brown sugar)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks

Caramel Apple Latte (Hot or Iced)

  • 2 shots espresso (chilled if making iced)
  • ½ cup vanilla almond milk (I use Califia Farms)
  • 2 tbsp vanilla almond creamer (I use Califia Farms)
  • 2-4 tbsp homemade caramel apple syrup (more or less to taste depending on sweetness preference)

Instructions

Homemade Caramel Apple Syrup

  • Add all ingredients in a pot on the stove over medium heat. Bring to a slight simmer and keep an eye on the mixture, mixing lightly as the sugar dissolves.
  • Keep the syrup on a light simmer for up to 30 minutes, ensuring it never starts to boil and while stirring often.
  • Once the mixture has thickened slightly, your simple syrup is done! Allow to cool and store in an airtight container in the fridge. If you'd like an even stronger cinnamon flavor, you can add the cinnamon sticks to your container with the syrup.

Iced Caramel Apple Latte

  • Brew and chill espresso.
  • Fill your favorite glass with ice, then pour in your desired amount of caramel apple syrup.
  • Next, froth together the milk and creamer using a milk frother. You can skip this step if you don't have one!
  • Pour in the frothed milk and creamer then pour in the chilled espresso.
  • If you'd like, drizzle in some homemade caramel sauce (recipe is linked in the blog post!), then mix together and enjoy!

Hot Caramel Apple Latte

  • Add desired amount of caramel apple syrup to the bottom of your favorite mug.
  • Brew your espresso, then pour into the mug.
  • Next, froth together the milk and creamer using a milk frother on the hot setting. If using a handheld frother, warm the milk and creamer in the microwave for 30 seconds before frothing.
  • Pour in the frothed milk and creamer into the mug, drizzle in some homemade caramel sauce (recipe is linked in the blog post!) and enjoy!
