Homemade Apple Syrup

Apple Syrup

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Course: Coffee, Drinks

Ingredients

  • ½ cup pure apple juice (I use my juicer, but store bought is fine)
  • ½ cup brown sugar (I use brown sugar substitutes for sugar free, I prefer Miss Jones brand)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. Add ingredients to a skillet or pot on the stove over medium heat and whisk together to combine.
  2. Keep an eye on it and whisk often as it heats.
  3. Bring to a simmer and allow the syrup to bubble slightly while still whisking.
  4. Once the consistency is thick and similar to honey or maple syrup, remove the syrup from the heat and allow to cool slightly.

Notes

Store leftover syrup in a jar with a lid and keep in the fridge. I stir mine into hot coffee so it's okay if it thickens a little as it cools since it melts back into the coffee.
