Total Time 5 minutes mins
Course: Appetizer, Dip, Side Dish
Ingredients Equipment Method

Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz white beans
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • ¼ cup tahini (I use Artisana Organics)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup water, if needed (only use if you want a runnier consistency or if the hummus is too thick)
Garnishes (Optional)
  • olive oil
  • paprika
  • parsley
  • red pepper flakes

Equipment

  • Food Processor or High Powered Blender

Method

  1. Using a food processor or high powered blender lemon juice, tahini, garlic, olive oil, cumin and salt together until smooth.
  2. Add in half of the drained and rinsed white beans and blend. If you'd like a thinner consistency, add two tbsp of water and blend again until smooth.
  3. Add in the rest of the white beans and continue blending. Again, if you'd like to thin the consistency, add the remaining two tbsp of water and blend again until smooth.
  4. Once it has reached your desired consistency, top with toppings of choice and enjoy with veggies, bread, smashed potatoes, crackers and/or pita (aka whatever you'd like!).

My favorite hummus ever, and I’ve tried a lot. Easy to make with ingredients I always have on hand. I can’t even count how many times I’ve made it already.

I was looking for a quick appetizer for the family who stopped by. Using what was on hand, this was perfect—fast & delicious!! No crackers, no problem, sliced bell peppers. 😊

Hey there. For those of us who are allergic to tahini, what can we use as a substitute?

My mom is as well! You can try to leave it out and add a little more olive oil if needed for texture/consistency. 🙂
