Whipped Ricotta (GF, DF, Paleo, Whole30)

This Whipped Ricotta is made with just a few simple ingredients in just 5 minutes and can easily be made to be dairy free! It’s perfect for dipping or spreading and couldn’t be more delicious.

Whipped Ricotta

Whipped Ricotta

This easy dip/spread is packed with flavor and makes for the most amazing snack or appetizer. It is also great for customizing to your taste preferences and dietary needs.

What you’ll need:

  • Ricotta (regular or dairy free)
  • Lemon
  • Garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Dried Chives
  • Dried Basil
  • Salt & Pepper

You can easily adjust this recipe by changing up the herbs, adding honey, using additional or less lemon… it’s up to you!

This recipe is made with real ingredients and fits seamlessly into the following dietary needs when using the products/brands (or ones that are similar) listed in the recipe:

  • soy free
  • refined sugar free
  • dairy free (using dairy free ricotta)
  • vegetarian (using compliant dairy free ricotta)
  • vegan (using compliant dairy free ricotta)
  • paleo (using compliant dairy free ricotta)
  • Whole30 (using compliant dairy free ricotta)
  • Plant-Based Whole30 (using compliant dairy free ricotta)

I use and swear by Kite Hill ricotta! It is so delicious and great for multiple dietary needs. However, if dairy is in your diet, feel free to use the real thing!

Serving Ideas

This spread is amazing when paired with toasted bread and a little honey or a vibrant heirloom tomato salad. I’ve included the salad recipe below if you love tomatoes like me!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ricotta (I use Kite Hill for dairy free & paleo)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • salt & pepper, to taste

Method
 

  1. Blend ricotta, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic clove, olive oil, herbs, salt and pepper together in a food processor until smooth.
  2. Pair the whipped ricotta with tomato salad, toasted bread, crackers, honey or enjoy it as is!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 2-3 small heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • ½ cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ red onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • fresh basil, to garnish

Method
 

  1. Gently toss tomatoes and red onion with olive oil, balsamic, salt and pepper, then top with basil.
