Looking back on 2019 like…
2019 was by far the best year of my life .
It was filled with moments and milestones that I’ll never forget, but I could not be more excited and motivated for 2020. I’ve always lived with the mindset that the best is always still ahead and that each year will be better than the last, and most often, I’m proven right.
I don’t have goals that are necessarily measurable this year, but instead a handful of things I’d like to improve on, such as:
- Be conscious of my time and my thoughts. So often I am worried about getting the next thing on my list checked off or maybe even beating myself up in my head over something that isn’t worth it. Overall, I want to be aware of how I am talking to myself and how I can spend my time smarter.
- Romanticize my life, even just the day to day moments. Developing a “get to” mindset over a “have to” is one of my biggest goals this year. Feeling gratitude over stress will make my days so much brighter.
- Expand my personal research on food and nutrition. If you haven’t caught on by now, I am fascinated by nutrition and how food works in our bodies. I want to keep up my curiosity and learn a lot in the process.
- Write/send more letters. I absolutely love receiving real mail and want to give the people in my life that same joy between the bills and catalogs.
- Accept that things don’t always go according to plan and be calm when they don’t. In any given scenario, I’ve basically already played it out step for step in my head. When it doesn’t go as I pictured, I tend to feel defeated and disappointed. I want to be realistic this year and not feel so down when real life doesn’t match my daydreams.
- Continue swapping products for nontoxic/cruelty free options. I started my nontoxic lifestyle journey in the beginning of 2019, and back then I had no idea how long of a process it would be. I am allowing myself to make this change gradually while also being conscious of making the changes as they come.
- Be present in the moment and open to spontaneity. I am such a control freak and have to have a set plan ahead of time. If someone asks to do something spur of the moment and I am free, I want to say “yes” this year.
What are you goals this year? I’d love to read them for more inspiration! Happiest New Year everyone! I have the absolute best feeling about 2020.
