Peanut Butter Chip Frozen Yogurt Bars (Copycat Buster Bars)
Ingredients
Frozen Yogurt Filling (Added Protein Version)
- ¼ cup runny peanut butter (ingredients should just be peanuts and maybe salt)
- 1 cup yogurt of choice (I use coconut yogurt)
- 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 2 tbsp vanilla protein powder of choice
Frozen Yogurt Filling (No Added Protein Version)
- ½ cup runny peanut butter (ingredients should just be peanuts and maybe salt)
- 1 cup yogurt of choice (I use coconut yogurt)
- 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- ¼ tsp salt
Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup chocolate
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp peanuts (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all of your filling ingredients and stir together until fully incorporated.
- Line a baking sheet or flat plate with parchment paper.
- Scoop about ¼ cup of the filling and make four circles on the parchment lined sheet or plate. Press a popsicle stick into each circle if you wish, or leave it as is. If using a popsicle stick, be sure to cover the stick with the filling.
- Sprinkle peanuts over the top and press them in gently.
- Freeze for 2 hours.
- Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each increment.
- Once melted and smooth, use the chocolate to completely cover each frozen yogurt bar.
- Place each coated bar back on the parchment to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Enjoy right away or keep in an airtight container in the freezer.
Notes
- You can make these into any size you want, you can use a popsicle mold, make them into bite sized pieces, really whatever you’d like!
- Once super frozen, you may need the treats to thaw slightly or pop into the microwave for 10-15 seconds (if you’re impatient like me!)
Bev
Have you rolled into balls or bite size type serving’s?
This looks yummy
kaylaskitchandfix
You could definitely do that if you wanted!
CJ
Did you use all NPB or just regular?
kaylaskitchandfix
What is NPB, CJ? Natural peanut butter? I use peanut butter that is made from only peanuts and sometimes salt.
Stephanie Deretchouk
What yogurt brand do you use?
kaylaskitchandfix
I have it linked above, but I love cocojune! Use whatever your favorite is!
Loretta Hulsey
Natural peanut butter is made from peanuts and a bit of salt sometimes. I use Smackers, the big jar. I stir it to get a creamy consistency when I first use that jar. Little stirring is required to keep it smooth after initial blending.
kaylaskitchandfix
Ohhh, I wasn’t understanding the abbreviation. I understand what natural peanut butter is as that’s what I use! Thanks, Loretta!
Susan
Homemade version of yasso bars! Love it!!!
kaylaskitchandfix
Ahhh, kind of yes!
Debbie Schutrum
I think Yasso bars are terrible. Are these actually better hopefully?
kaylaskitchandfix
I haven’t had Yasso bars in years but honestly these don’t taste like yogurt in my opinion. Even my picky husband and sister love these as do thousands on the internet, haha! Curious to hear what you think!
Eileen Canty
Haven’t made them yet but it is happening Buster Bars are a childhood memory treat I shared with our Mom!!
kaylaskitchandfix
Aw, I love that! 🙂
Emsbese
Did you use peanut butter or peanut muss? If you don’t know that is the really liquidy one
kaylaskitchandfix
Peanut butter
Karla Halverson
Do they have to be kept frozen?
kaylaskitchandfix
Yes!
Emily
So tasty and a nice treat with some extra nutrients to boot! Thanks for the great recipe
kaylaskitchandfix
So thrilled you loved these, Emily! Thank you! 🙂
Deb
Hi there! Would anything change if I was using Lily’s baking chips and zero sugar greek yogurt? These look so good!
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Deb, both of those products should be just fine. It may lack a little sweetness, but sweetness levels are subjective anyway. 🙂 Let me know!
Gail
Holy heavens, thank you for this recipe!! I’m sitting down to eat my first one right now and I can’t get over how good they are!! So easy to make, doesn’t take much time, and they are so stinking good!! I saw this recipe on Instagram and I will now be scouring your website for so many other things to make!!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so happy to hear this, Gail! I can’t wait to hear what you make next as well! 🙂
Marnie Pfeiffer
Hi Deb
Did you try the lily’s chips and sugar free yogurt? I was going to do the same. Thanks
Jackie
I just made mine! I made it with ratio yogurt and lilys dark chocolate and it taste amazing!
kaylaskitchandfix
So glad to hear!
Kai Pope
These are amazing and so easy to make!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so happy you think so, Kai! Thank you! 🙂
Meg
Made and in the freezer… I made mine in 3 oz Dixie cups… now to wait for them to freeze… wait… wait… wait…
kaylaskitchandfix
How did they turn out in the dixie cups?
Sandie
That’s how DQ makes them, I worked there forever
kaylaskitchandfix
Cool! I’m sure the ingredients are just a littttttle bit different, haha!
JT
So FAB!!
Do you have a recipe for vanilla yoghurt choc/chip w/o the peanut butter? I love both!
kaylaskitchandfix
I do not as of now, just this flavor! Hoping to make more this summer, so we will see!
Allison
Do you think it would work using Greek yogurt and skip the protein powder?
kaylaskitchandfix
I have a version in the recipe to skip the protein powder, so yes!
Joy
Just made them. They’re great! My son loved them!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so thrilled that you and your son loved these, Joy! Thank you! 🙂
Korinn
Hi , what can u I use instead of protein powder?
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Korinn, there is an option listed in the recipe to omit protein powder. Please use that option when making these!
Nickie
I’m so excited to try these. I put them in a cupcake tin because it was a little thin.
Not sure if it because I used cashew milk yogurt and I added more protein to mak a bit thicker. I lined the with tin cups, added little chocolate on the bottom, froze, then the yogurt mixture, froze and topped with more chocolate and nuts. Thanks for this great treat 😊
kaylaskitchandfix
It was likely because the cashew milk yogurt was thinner, which is okay! I’m glad you made it work for you!
kristin noon
Hi! These look great do they taste coconutty from the yogurt? Was thinking the coc yog might be why they r not icy? have u her tried w reg yog? Thanks!!
kaylaskitchandfix
I aim to eat mostly dairy free, so I have not tried regular yogurt. The coconut yogurt I used doesn’t taste coconuty at all in my opinion! My family didn’t think so either!
Raechel Eller
What coconut yogurt do you like? Haven’t tried any but going the dairy free route.
kaylaskitchandfix
I have the one I used linked in the “Products” portion of the blog post! Cocojune and Harmless Harvest were both great.
Liette
Runny peanut butter?
kaylaskitchandfix
Natural peanut butter that has been well mixed and not refrigerated.
Annette
I wonder if mashed banana would be a good addition? They look amazing regardless and I’m making them today! Thanks 😊
kaylaskitchandfix
I wish I could speak to that but I’m allergic to bananas! Sounds good though!
Chloe
I added mashed bananas and it was amazing!
kaylaskitchandfix
I bet that is sooo delicious! If I weren’t allergic to bananas I would definitely be trying that!
Laura Kelso
I seriously cannot wait to try these! My dairy free yoghurt is vanilla. Would that be OK?
As well, thank you for simplifying the recipe. I know it’s a little thing, but it makes life easier.
Thank you!
kaylaskitchandfix
Definitely okay! Vanilla will be delicious. I can’t wait to hear what you think! 🙂
Christeen Smith
How do you make creamy peanut butter, add water or oil? What brand of chocolate chips do you use?
kaylaskitchandfix
No, don’t add anything! I list the type of peanut butter I look for as well as linked the chocolate that I tested these with in this blog post!
Jessica
Hi, is there a peanut free version anywhere that I would be able to try?
kaylaskitchandfix
I have not tested a peanut free version. You can substitute any nut butter if they fit into your dietary needs!
Erin
Can you recommend a coconut oil? Unrefined or refined? Thanks!
kaylaskitchandfix
I used the last bit of the jar I had for this recipe so I can’t reference it! I’d say to use whichever you prefer!
Eboni
Should you use plain or flavor yogurt?
kaylaskitchandfix
Whatever you prefer! I have tried both vanilla and regular! Depends on what yogurt you like best. 🙂
Deborah Butler
How do you think the peanut butter powder mixed with water would do in this?
kaylaskitchandfix
I have never worked with peanut butter powder so I can’t say! I would guess anything mixed with water could possibly make these icy, but I’m not sure as I haven’t tried it.
M
Would plain Greek yogurt work?
kaylaskitchandfix
Yes! A handful of people have used Greek yogurt with good results. Be sure to give your filling a taste test before freezing to make sure it’s sweet enough! If not, maybe add a little honey or maple syrup?
Mary Catherine Wilson
Hi! Do you know the calorie count for these?!
kaylaskitchandfix
Due to my past with eating disorders, I do not discuss or count calories on my page. I have a blurb more about this within all of my blog posts if you’d like to read it! However, I know it works for others to count calories, but they change based on ingredients used, so please feel free to calculate them based on your ingredients for your own use!
Mary
Hi Kayla! This recipe looks simply delicious for kids as well as adults! Can’t wait to make them this weekend for my son’s birthday!
Thanks for sharing such a delicious treat!
kaylaskitchandfix
That’s awesome, Mary! Be sure to report back. 🙂
Laura C
They look delicious! I was just wondering what is runny peanut butter. What do you use? Thanks
kaylaskitchandfix
Exactly as it sounds! Peanut butter with a runny consistency. What has always worked for me is natural peanut butter (just peanuts and maybe salt) that has been well mixed and not refrigerated.
Dana
Made the recipe with vegan Oatly yogurt! These are delish!!
kaylaskitchandfix
Yay, I’m so glad you loved these, Dana! Thank you! 🙂
Carolyn Taylor
I made these today. Have yet to try them but I added 1 whole banana for a little more sweetness. From the little taste I had from the spoon, the are delicious. Thank you!! My kids are going to love them.
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so happy to hear this! I bet the banana is delicious. If I weren’t allergic to bananas I would totally try that too! Thanks so much, Carolyn!
Taylor
What brand of vanilla protein powder do you use?!
kaylaskitchandfix
I have some linked in the “products” section of the blog post!
Deb
What can you use in place of the peanut butter?
kaylaskitchandfix
Any nut butter!
Diana
Can you share the exact brands of ingredients that you used so I can just order them.
kaylaskitchandfix
Ingredients such as the coconut oil and peanut butter are just generic/whatever I see at the store, but specific products I recommend are already linked in the blog post in the “products” section.
Diana Rose
When you say coconut yogurt -could you explain. Coconut flavored or yogurt made with coconut milk? You find that at a health food store. Thank you! Can’t wait to make these!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m referring to a dairy free coconut alternative yogurt! You really can use your favorite yogurt/whatever meets your dietary needs!
Jami Jablonski
Making these today! What kind of chocolate do you like using for melting? Is there a certain brand or type of chocolate that you prefer?
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Jami, I have the chocolate brands I reach for often linked in the “Products” portion of this blog post!
Anthony
Great recipe and idea Kayla!
I made mine with vanilla greek yogurt, and drizzled the chocolate on. Greek yogurt was a bit tangy, so I’d recommend normal yogurt instead.
The servings are pretty big, so I also recommend making 8 instead of 4.
Thanks Kayla!
kaylaskitchandfix
So thrilled you loved these, Anthony! The Greek yogurt and sizes are totally preferences, so it really depends! I loved making mine into 4, but 8 would be great for littler bites! Glad it worked for you!
Christine
These are fabulous! My entire family loves them. I made the recipe exactly the first time around, then the second time, I put them in silicone muffin pans. I am now scrolling through your recipes for more! 10/10
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so thrilled your whole family loves these, Christine! Thank you so much for making them, for sharing them and for looking for more recipes to make! Let me know what you make next! 🙂
Susan
Can you use another oil? Canola or peanut? No coconut oil but want to try this!
kaylaskitchandfix
I don’t cook with canola or peanut oils so I cannot recommend them. I would just leave out the coconut oil. It makes the chocolate silky and smooth, but the chocolate alone will still be delicious!
Kat
These are nice summer treat! I used plain cashew yogurt and added some maple syrup as the notes suggested
kaylaskitchandfix
Love those easy subs! Sounds delicious and so glad you loved them!
Scarlett
I didn’t read every comment (cos WOWEE you got a LOT! )Beo sorry if I’m repeating, but what if a chick just eats regular food from a regular grocery store…could I use Peter Pan or Jif with Dannon Yogurt (reg, not Greek style) and Nestle Dark Chocolate mini morsels? You got really narrow with one person who asked for a protein powder sub, so I wasn’t exactly sure how crazy we could get while still technically making the recipe. 🤔
kaylaskitchandfix
Oh my gosh yes, of course you can use what works for you! I make recipes with dietary needs in mind (both my own and others) so that is the reasoning for listing certain ingredients. Plus, people ask for specific brands and products so that’s what I give them! You are absolutely welcome to use the ingredients you have on hand. Keep in mind using different ingredients in a recipe can sometimes change things (for example, regular yogurt is thinner than Greek), but yours should turn out fine!
Patty Oropeza
I made these bars and they’re so good. I substituted peanut butter for almond butter and used my flavcity strawberries & cream protein. They came out so good. My husband wants to know how many calories are in your recipe? What are the macros? Thank you!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so glad you loved these, Patty! In terms of calories and macros, please refer to my “note on calories…” portion of the blog post. Thanks!
Karol
Made these yesterday. Very easy and pretty yummy. I did add the protein powder but probably won’t next time. I always find it leaves an aftertaste and it did with these as well. So I think without it (nice to have that option) these would be even better. I also found my serving a bit big. So next time I will make them smaller and maybe make 6 bars.
kaylaskitchandfix
Definitely only use a protein powder that you like the taste of, or else of course it won’t turn out how you may be hoping! Opting to leave it out next time sounds like your best bet. Serving sizes are so subjective, and sounds like 6-8 may be a great fit for you! Enjoy!
Laura Kelso
Okay. Let me begin by saying I’m SO glad I found you. Seriously. You’re exactly what I’ve been looking for when it comes to my dairy-free, gluten-free life and everything about your website is perfect! It’s easy to navigate, your videos are spot on and your recipes are super simple which result in pure deliciousness!
Secondly, I made the Peanut Butter Chip Frozen Yogurt Bar for an adult birthday party and man-oh-man, was I popular!!! Everyone loved them!!! I literally made them 3.5 hours before the party started and it was my first time making them. Super simple and super delicious! I wish I could attach some pics!!!! Thank you, Kayla!!!
kaylaskitchandfix
Aw Lauren, this is beyond sweet! I am thrilled that you are having such luck with the website and my recipes. Thank you for saying all of that! I am also thrilled that everyone at the adult birthday party loved these! How fun is that? Thank you so much for making my recipes and sharing them with others! So happy to have you around!
Michele B.
First time follower here. Lazy cook and aspire to follow a healthier way of being. I was a little worried that these would taste “healthy” (not great) and be just another thing to never make again but BOY was I wrong! Followed recipe to the letter and even my husband (who is VERY PARTICULAR about most things) LOVED THEM!!! This was so easy, almost too easy! And legitimately delicious! Thank you for this recipe!
kaylaskitchandfix
Oh my goodness, Michele, this is amazing! I am also a lazy cook (believe it or not), but I love to eat so I enjoy finding simple ways to eat deliciously and healthfully. I am so happy to hear that both you and your husband loved these so much! Thank you for giving them a try and I hope to find you back for more recipes. 🙂
Vicki
Hi Kayla!
These sound delightful and I can’t wait to try them but I have a different peanut butter question than the others. I noticed the quantity of peanut butter is higher in the non-protein frozen yogurt filling versus the protein recipe. I’m neither a great cook or very experienced with cooking with protein powder but it seems that those quantities should be reversed OR the amount of peanut butter should be the same in each of these recipes. Are the recipes correct as written or did I find a typo? Thanks!
kaylaskitchandfix
Nope, it’s not a typo! The protein powder changes the texture of the filling, so when it is not used there needs to be more of the peanut butter to better hold the shape. The recipe is written correctly. Enjoy!
Grace H.
Soooo I may or may not have misread the ingredient list (gotta love ADHD and accidentally skimming) and I accidentally ended up grabbing dairy yogurt that was coconut *flavored*. I’m hoping it’ll still work out though, and I’m so excited to make these! I’m happy it’s on plan for my dad so he can eat these with me, and I appreciate you not including the calorie count as I certainly have my own reasons with that as well. Thank you for making this recipe and have a nice day!
kaylaskitchandfix
No worries, Grace, any yogurt should be fine as long as you like the taste of it! 🙂 So so so happy that this recipe works for your dad as well! Also glad that you appreciate the note on calorie counts, but not glad that you can relate! You’re very much not alone. I hope you enjoy these treats!!
Kelsey Kirwan
Hi from HI!
I’m nervous about coco oil because I think it may be the cause of breakouts as well as avo and sunflower oil… anytime I eat something with coco oil in it o get red splotches for a week or more, unfortunately. Is there another option or could you do without the coco oil?
Mahalos!
@kelseykauai
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Kelsey, sorry to hear that! Just leave out the coconut oil!
Yvette Libert
Hi Kayla!
I recently discovered your IG and May I please tell you how excited I am!!!
I made the frozen yogurt bars but instead I did it in mini muffins tins as “ bites”.
They are AMAZING!!!! So delicious 🤤
Perfect recipe! Thank you!!!
Yvette Marie
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so glad to have you around and thrilled that you loved this recipe, Yvette! Thank you so much for making them and for this kind review! 🙂
Ashley
Followed your recipe and unfortunately my husband and I are now obsessed! They will now be in our weekly treat rotation for at least the remainder of the summer.
kaylaskitchandfix
Sounds like a good problem to have. 🙂 Hope they make your summer even better!
Savannah
These bars look so good! I made a batch for my husband! They were so easy to make!
kaylaskitchandfix
So glad they were easy for you! I hope you had a chance to try one too. 🙂
Marnie Pfeiffer
Yes yes yes! These are amazing. Thank you so much for the post. My husband and I are always looking for the healthier alternative. I used no sugar non fat vanilla yogurt and lilies dark chocolate chips. 😋 I also used chocolate protein powder because I’m a Chocoholic.
kaylaskitchandfix
Love the ingredients you used! So glad you and your husband loved these. 🙂 Thanks, Marnie!
Beth
These are so so good!! Highly recommend making this recipe. I made these as balls and they were a delicious small treat you can just pop in your mouth.
kaylaskitchandfix
I absolutely have to do that next time! Thank you so much, Beth! 🙂
Lisa
Can Bulgarian yogurt be used? It’s runny and didn’t know if it would work. Thanks!
kaylaskitchandfix
I haven’t worked with Bulgarian yogurt so I can’t say for sure, but if it’s really runny I would assume not! Maybe use a little less and give it a taste test?
michelle hillyer
Thank you for this recipe. I made the protein version and they came out perfect. I used have coconut yogurt and half plain Greek. I liked the tang from the Greek & the flavor from the coconut. Great combo. I also used natural Laura Schudders peanut butter. Family LOVED them. This will be my go-to treat all summer! I’ve attempted other frozen treats that didn’t work out so I’m very grateful for a recipe that not only works, but it’s simple, affordable and delish. Thank you!
kaylaskitchandfix
I am so thrilled you and your family loved these, Michelle! Thank you so much for making and for reviewing! The ingredients you used sound delicious. 🙂
Carol
A very delicious, healthy way to treat yourself to something sweet that won’t blow your diet and so easy to make! Thanks for sharing! 😋
kaylaskitchandfix
Glad you love them, Carol!
Heather
The first time I made these I used plain Greek yogurt and natural peanut butter and added some Sweet Leaf vanilla stevia drops. I used a melon baller and scooped them into a silicone mini muffin pan to freeze. It made about 14 balls. They turned out well! After dipping them in chocolate I keep them in the freezer and then when I want to eat one I let it thaw for about an hour. Making my second batch today with regular peanut butter thinned with almond milk.
kaylaskitchandfix
I love the bite sized approach, yum!
Deb
What oil could replace the coconut oil? My hubs diet does t allow tropical oils.
kaylaskitchandfix
I’d opt to leave it out!
Jodi
I’ve been so excited to make these! I did the option without protein powder. They were such a delicious healthy treat! I love that there’s no added sugar besides what’s in the chocolate. I bet the vanilla protein powder would help cut the tanginess of the yogurt? I didn’t mind it, just thinking I may change it up next time. Thank you for sharing! Trying the Reese’s cups next.
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so happy to hear you loved these, Jodi! In terms of tanginess, it totally depends on the yogurt you use. As long as you like the taste of the yogurt and the taste of the protein powder you choose, they should be great! 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you think of the Reese’s!
Diana
Wow! The perfect treat to satisfy wanting something guilty!! (I made with dark chocolate) Thank you!!!!!! 🤩
kaylaskitchandfix
Friendly reminder that you don’t have to feel guilt when it comes to food. 🙂 You’re allowed to enjoy what you eat! A lesson I’m always working on! So glad you loved these, Diana! 🙂
Christine
These are incredible! Perfect combo of yogurt, peanut butter, nuts and chocolate. Tastes decadent w/o the guilt!! Just came back for the recipe because we’re getting ready to make a new batch! Thank you so much for sharing!!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so happy you love these, Christine! 🙂 Wanted to say that you never have to feel guilty about what you’re eating! Food is meant to be enjoyed and nourish us and adding negative feelings does us no good! It’s a lesson I’m still working on myself, as well as I’m sure everyone else! Thank you for making my recipe and leaving this kind review! 🙂
Jillian
These are AMAZING. I used 2 individual containers of chobani Greek coconut yogurt (so a little more than a cup) and made 6 smaller disks. Sooooo good.
kaylaskitchandfix
So glad you loved them, Jillian! Thank you! 🙂
Danielle
Oh my gosh, when I tell you these were the BEST thing ever! The peanuts added the perfect crunch. The peanut butter + yogurt were so delicious! I have been telling everyone about them and eating one each night 🤩
kaylaskitchandfix
Aw thank you so much for making these and for spreading the word! Means so much! Thanks again, Danielle! 🙂
Katie
I made these with light and fit vanilla yogurt and a tablespoon of protein powder. Love it! Used semi sweet choc chips too. I filled up ice tube trays with the bites instead of making them on a stick.
I have a question- mine were great a few hours after I made them but today they are rock hard! Literally could not bite them, I managed to slice them in half with a knife. I haven’t seen anyone else comment about this? Is my freezer too cold? Ice cream doesn’t get hard in my freezer.
kaylaskitchandfix
Glad you loved these! In terms of them being frozen, that’s totally normal as they aren’t actually ice cream and they don’t have any additives or anything in them! I pop mine in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or let it thaw slightly after freezing for more than a few hours. I also notice certain parts of my freezer are colder than others, and my freezer is extra cold so things realllllly freeze. Enjoy!
Dawn
Can I use PB2 as a substitute for regular peanut butter?
kaylaskitchandfix
I have not tried that myself however a lot of others have and said they loved it. Enjoy!
Sherry Fincher
I need to clarify, the 1 cup of chocolate. Is that chocolate chips? Or a bar? Lilly’s list their servings in the #of chips, very clever on their part.
kaylaskitchandfix
It just needs to be one cup of chocolate, whether that’s broken up pieces of a chocolate bar or chocolate chips. I use whatever chocolate chips I have on hand!
Molly
Currently waiting for mine to freeze up so I can eat them 🤤 this will be my second batch I’ve made and I love them!!!
kaylaskitchandfix
I’m so glad you love them, Molly! Enjoy batch # 2! 🙂
Cindy
I did not see what the chocolate chunks brand is. I am looking for the chunk choclate used in many recipes but can’t figure out what it is. Also looking for large flake coconut if you have suggestions.
Thank you…plan to make these soon.
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Cindy, the chunks are just what I had on hand, but I believe they are 365 Brand (Whole Foods generic line) if I’m remembering correctly, but any chocolate you love should be great along with the favorites I have linked! In terms of coconut, I’m not familiar with a brand for that! Hope you love these when you make them. 🙂
Michele
These were so easy to make and so delicious too!!! Thank you for sharing such a great recipe!!!
kaylaskitchandfix
So glad you loved these so much, Michele! 🙂
Margaret
Question! Do you know how long these hold up in the freezer. I live alone so I wouldn’t want a batch to go bad. Also do you know if cottage cheese would work in place of the yogurt. I have a hard time with the tart and sourness of yogurt.
kaylaskitchandfix
Hi Margaret! I would recommend just making a half batch for the most fresh results! I haven’t tried cottage cheese, but it might work! I use coconut yogurt which isn’t super tangy.
T
Love these I max them in bite star pieces used ice tray so delish
kaylaskitchandfix
Sounds so cute! So glad you love them!!
Anna
so yummy. tastes like an ice cream Snickers bar, but way healthier and better. I made it with the Skotiniadis Greek yogurt from Costco (fellow Greek here, so the yogurt is thick and a little sweet due to the vanilla in it), but is so tasty with this recipe.
kaylaskitchandfix
Soooo happy you loved these, Anna! 🙂
Cheryl
Can you use almond butter?
kaylaskitchandfix
Sure! I haven’t tried it but others have and enjoyed it.
Lisa
I have made these three times in the past month! My husband loves them! I use vanilla flavored greek yogurt and the recipe without the protein powder. I did them as pops the first time but then rolled them into balls and find we like that much better! They barely make it to the freezer after I dip them in the chocolate lol. Thanks for a great recipe!

Love that you make them into little bites! So fun. Thanks for making and so glad you love the recipe!
Melody Garrison
Did you use milk chocolate or dark chocolate?
kaylaskitchandfix
Personally I prefer dark chocolate but whatever you like will work.

Is there any way I can make the same thing without any form of yogurt? My dad and I don’t consume yogurt. For all your recipies with yogurt, is there any substitute?
kaylaskitchandfix
Hm, I don’t have a substitute. Not sure if you can have dairy free yogurt? Yogurt is a main component of this recipe unfortunately!

I use plain Greek yogurt, regular peanut butter and add a few drops of Stevia Sweetleaf vanilla. After stirring together I use a melon ball scoop and put it in a silicone mini muffin pan. I place a couple of nuts on each one and then freeze. Once frozen I dip in the chocolate/coconut oil mixture. These are great! I’ve made them several times. Thank you!

This looks so good! What a great combination of flavors!

My favorite!

Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
kaylaskitchandfix
As long as you want in the freezer!

These are great, my husband and I love them including my young granddaughter’s! The 1st time I made them was for Valentines Day and made heart shaped pops using a pastry bag which were a big hit with the family. Now I also add chopped strawberries and make bite size nuggets. YUM!!! They are pretty much a staple in my freezer so thank you:)
kaylaskitchandfix
I love hearing all the ways you’re enjoying them! So happy they’re a staple for you. 🙂

Do you have calorie and protein count on this recipe please

Made these with what I had on hand, cashews instead of peanuts, a mixed nut and seed butter instead of just peanut butter, vanilla Greek yogurt and the protein powder I had was salted caramel flavor. Doubled the recipe and they were so good. Pleased a crowd! Next time I think I will try with pistachios as well. Some I made on the stick were too big, these are hefty and can get away with smaller portions!
kaylaskitchandfix
So glad these worked for you with what you had on hand!

Great flavor but very icy, any tips ?
kaylaskitchandfix
It’s likely the yogurt you are using! Can I ask what you used?
