These Cornless Bread Drop Biscuits somehow taste like cornbread without having any corn in them! I personally am intolerant to corn but LOVE cornbread and luckily, I randomly created these one day while trying to create a classic drop biscuit. While the drop biscuits didn’t turn out, I realized they tasted so much like cornbread, texture and all! And now, here we are.
Cornless Bread Drop Biscuits
What you’ll need:
- Almond Flour
- Honey
- Baking Powder
- Baking Soda
- Salt
- Butter
- Egg
- Milk
I also recommend topping these with extra butter and a drizzle of honey. Sooooo delicious!

Cornless Bread Drop Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed (can use vegan or dairy)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk (of choice, can use dairy or unsweetened plain almond milk)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉ and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- With a pastry dough cutter (or a sturdy fork) cut the cubed butter into the flour mixture until butter is fully cut into the flour and it roughly resembles small pebbles.
- Whisk together honey, egg and milk then mix it into the flour mixture.
- Drop equal amounts of dough onto baking sheet, 2 inches apart from each biscuit. There will be enough dough for 6 biscuits. I like to use an ice cream scoop for this!
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center and tops are golden brown.
- Allow to cool and enjoy with a spread of butter and drizzle of honey.
