This Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso is made at home with just 4 simple, real food ingredients so you can enjoy your favorite Starbucks drink while saving both money and time. Plus, you can customize it to use whatever milk you like best depending on your taste preferences and dietary needs!

My husband has been obsessed with the Starbucks drink recently so I wanted to learn to make it at home using just simple ingredients while also saving money and time! Yesterday he told me mine is even better! It’s been a morning staple over here for the last month, and I fully understand the hype over this drink now!

This recipe is made with real ingredients and fits seamlessly into the following dietary needs when using compliant ingredients:

Ingredients Equipment Method Notes

Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz espresso
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 1-3 tsp brown sugar or coconut sugar (depending on how sweet you like it!)
  • ¼ cup creamer or milk of choice (can add more or less depending on your preference)
  • lots of ice

Equipment

  • Espresso Machine or Moka Pot
  • Jar with a Lid or Shaker

Method
 

  1. Brew espresso and add to a jar or shaker with brown sugar or coconut sugar, cinnamon and a small handful of ice.
  2. Cover with a lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. It’ll be ready when it’s frothy and chilled.
  3. Pour the coffee into a glass, add in lots of ice and pour in the creamer or milk. Taste to see if you want a little more creamer or milk and adjust if needed.

Notes

Tips & what I use:
  1. You don’t need a fancy espresso machine! A moka pot is around $15 and works great.
  2. I use coconut sugar and dairy free/sugar free creamer to keep mine paleo.
  3. If you like it sweeter, use more sugar!
  4. Cinnamon is optional but it really adds something!
  5. Be sure to shake it suuuuper well to get it frothy and chilled before adding to a glass.
