This paleo friendly and Whole30 Sticky Chicken is packed with flavor and comes together in as little as 20 minutes! When served with rice and/or veggies, it makes for an easy and delicious meal that everyone at your table is sure to love.
Whole30 Sticky Chicken
This dish is honestly packed with tangy flavor and a little bit of spice (not too much, I’m a baby when it comes to spicy foods!) and is so delicious, that my fiancé said it made it onto his list of favorite things I’ve ever made. Coming from a health food skeptic and burger and fries guy, I’d say that’s a major win!
Not only is it good for you while being super delicious, it’s also so simple and quick to whip up. You essentially use one skillet to cook the chicken, then add in the sauces and thicken with a two-ingredient paste. So easy!
Make it Your Own
If you like spice, add in a splash of hot sauce and red pepper flakes. Or if you follow a vegetarian diet, this dish would work great with tofu.
Make a meal of it with a side of your favorite veggies. I love to eat this with steamed broccolini, but this would also pair perfectly with broccoli florets or chopped bell peppers added in with the chicken! Additionally, it goes well with cauliflower rice if you follow a Whole30 or paleo diet, but tastes great with regular rice too if that fits into your needs!

All of the above are naturally sweetened, gluten and dairy free, Whole30 friendly (just omit the honey from the Firecracker Chicken and the General Tso’s Chicken) and fit great into a paleo diet!

Whole30 Sticky Chicken
Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
Sauce
- ½ cup coconut aminos (can sub soy sauce if not Whole30)
- ½ tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp unsweetened BBQ sauce (I use The New Primal)
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
Thickening Paste
- 1 tbsp tapioca starch
- 2 tbsp broth or water
Garnishes (Optional)
- green onions
- lime wedge
- sesame seeds
- red pepper flakes
- cilantro
Instructions
- Cube and cook your chicken in avocado oil in a skillet on the stove over medium heat. Salt and pepper the chicken if you'd like.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add in all of the sauce ingredients and let simmer for a few minutes.
- Once simmering, mix together the water or broth and tapioca starch to make a paste, then pour the paste into the skillet, mixing immediately. This will thicken your sauce!
- Enjoy with rice or cauliflower rice, steamed veggies and garnishes of your choice!

Made this with the new Miso Soup recipe last week and it was so delicious! It even impressed my brother who is a very picky eater! Posted on my insta and had so many people commenting how good it looked and asking for the recipe. Sent them straight to Kayla’s website! This was so good and we all can’t believe how this was not only delicious, but also how clean the ingredients were as well! So amazing!
