Whole30 Burger Bowl

January 9, 2020 by kaylaskitchandfix 2 Comments

Adding “top all salads with fries” to my 2020 goals after making this Whole30 Burger Bowl.

This sauce is magic.

These bowls will have you thinking you’re sitting at Shake Shack, but in reality, you’re getting tons of nutrients from the comfort of your own kitchen. Like I said, magic.

Looking to change it up?

This recipe is also super simple to modify to meet your dietary needs. It is already gluten free and dairy free, but if you’re a vegetarian, you can swap the ground beef for a veggie friendly option and leave out the bacon! Or maybe your body is craving more protein. This bowl is begging to be topped with a fried egg. You can also add any other veggies you’d like that meet your needs. Super versatile and full of flavor. As always, if you’re doing Whole30 check for compliant ingredient lists. And if you’re not… add cheese!

Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 10 minutes mins
Servings: 1
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 1 organic grass-fed burger (I get mine at Trader Joe's, but any organic, grass-fed protein will work)
  • Simply Organic Foods grind to a salt (Or whatever spices you'd like!)
  • 1 head organic romaine, chopped
  • Handful organic cherry tomatoes, halved (I chose heirloom)
  • 1/8 red onion, sliced
  • 2 pieces sugar free bacon (I use Wellshire Farms Paleo bacon)
  • 3 pickles
  • 2 T Primal Kitchen Foods avocado mayo
  • 1 T Primal Kitchen Foods ketchup
  • 1 t relish
  • Handful oven baked french fries

Method

  1. Cook burger (or ground beef) on the stove over medium heat in avocado oil and topped with Simply Organic Foods grind to a salt or whatever spices you’d like.
  2. While that’s cooking, assemble your bowl. Start with the cooked romaine, then arrange your tomatoes, pickles, bacon, red onion and prepared french fries (the best part, IMO!).
  3. Combine mayo, ketchup and relish to make your sauce/“dressing” in this case.
  4. Add burger to the center and drizzle the sauce all over the top.
