A Witching Hour Wine & Candy Pairing Night is the perfect October girls night in. I threw this party for a few friends and it was not only one of the most fun gatherings I’ve had this year, but it was actually super simple and quick to throw together (aka a dream for a hostess)!

Witching Hour Wine & Candy Pairing Night
How to host a Witching Hour Girls Night:
- Land on a date and time that works for your coven.
- Gather decor such as witches hats and battery taper candles to float with fishing wire as well as black lace linens, lots of candles, etc.
- Ask everyone to bring a wine and candy pairing to share, ensuring everyone brings something different.
- Plan out some super simple snacks to set out.
- Decorate on the day of and enjoy!

Setting the Scene
For the decor, you’ll want to gather every candle and black, lace-y linen you own. For colors, think deep, rich tones like dark purple and of course, black everywhere possible. Lit, flickering candlelight will help to achieve a night-like glow. I opted to hang battery operated candles with fishing line to create a floating effect. Next to them I also hang a few witches hats.
For the table setting itself, I kept it really simple with silver plates and etched glassware, all pieces that I have thrifted over time.
When it comes to attire, I asked if everyone would be comfortable wearing all black and everyone loved the idea!
You can really go as detailed or as simple as you’d like! If you’d like to browse the pieces I used, you can find them below!

Wine & Candy Pairing
As far as what I served for this party, I kept it really simple (think chips and dips as well as a snack/charcuterie board) in order for the focus to be on the wine and candy pairings. I asked each guest to bring a candy and wine pairing of their choice (some did some research on what would go together well and others gave it their best guess). We ensured there were not any duplicates so that we could try different things and it worked out so great. It was so fun to try each flavor pairing and we all agreed everything was delicious!
