Not only is it a great recipe to make a traditional cocktail or to adjust to be free from alcohol, but it’s also made with better for you ingredients that are made from real food. When using cocktail mixes, I reach for Agalima Organic mixes because their ingredient lists are simple and the taste is delicious. For this recipe, we are using their organic Sweet & Sour mix.

Cocktail vs. Mocktail

If tequila is your thing, be sure to grab your favorite for this recipe and drink up (responsibly, of course!). If you’re looking to cut back on your alcohol intake or don’t drink at all, you can easily make this recipe a “mocktail” aka a MOCK cocktail! I recently discovered Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative and was shocked at how much it smelled and tasted like tequila, all while being made with clean ingredients and zero alcohol! It’s wild and I highly recommend it.

If you’re looking for another easy cocktail recipe that is made with all clean ingredients, you’ll love this Sparkling Cucumber Gimlet. It’s light, refreshing and makes for a perfect mocktail as well! Plus, you can make it free from sugar using my Sugar Free Simple Syrup recipe. It takes two ingredients and less than 10 minutes, by the way.

Total Time 5 minutes mins
Servings: 1
Course: Cocktail, Drinks, Mocktail
Ingredients Method

Ingredients

Margarita
  • 3 fl oz tequila (can sub non alcoholic tequila for a mocktail)
  • 2 fl oz sweet & sour mix (I use Agalima brand)
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 3 fl oz pineapple juice
Rim/Garnish
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar (I use Lakanto monk fruit sweetner for low sugar)
  • lime wedge
  • sweet and sour candy

Method

  1. Combine tequila, sweet & sour mix, lime juice and pineapple juice into a cocktail shaker or jar with ice. Shake or stir to combine completely.
  2. Mix together salt and sugar on a flat plate and run a lime wedge across the edge of a glass. Dip the edge of the glass in the salt and sugar mixture to coat the rim.
  3. Pour the cocktail into the glass (your choice to add ice or go without) and top with a cocktail pick with sweet and sour candy garnish.
