A NOTE ON CALORIE COUNT, NUTRITIONAL INFO AND SERVING SIZES

Due to my past experiences, I do not include most of the above information within my recipes as it is unsafe for me to do so personally. While I try to share a rough estimate when it comes to the serving size, please note that it is very subjective as we all have different hunger levels both from person to person and even from meal to meal.

If any of the above information is important to you, I understand! We are all different and have various goals and needs. If you’d like, you are welcome to calculate the information needed based on the ingredients you use when making one of my recipes.

I hope you understand! This comes from a place of love and protection both for myself and others like me. If you ever have any questions, send me an Instagram message for the quickest response time! Thank you for being here!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

Grenadine
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 orange peels
  • 4 lemon peels
Maraschino Cherries
  • 1 lb cherries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup tart cherry juice
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
Shirley Temple
  • ice
  • 1 fl oz grenadine
  • 5 fl oz ginger ale
  • squeeze fresh lime
  • homemade maraschino cherries & their juice

Method

Grenadine
  1. Remove the peels from 4 oranges and 4 lemons, then add them to a pot with the pomegranate juice and sugar.
  2. Bring it to a boil on the stove, then cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat, then strain the contents, leaving the peels behind, into a jar.
  4. Once cool, cover the jar with a lid and keep in the fridge.
Maraschino Cherries
  1. Combine the sugar, tart cherry juice and lemon juice in a pot.
  2. On the stove, bring the contents to a simmer and mix here and there. Once the sugar is fully dissolved, remove from heat.
  3. Once fully cool, add in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Pit fresh cherries (save the stems if you wish for garnishing later!)
  5. Add the cherries to a large jar and pour the syrup over top. Allow the cherries to marinate overnight in the fridge for best results!
Shirley Temple
  1. In a cup with ice, pour in grenadine and ginger ale with a squeeze of lime over top.
  2. Spoon a little of the maraschino cherry juice over the top, stir the drink then top with cherries. Cheers!

Once the cherries have marinated overnight on the counter, they need to be refrigerated right?

Marinate in the fridge! The cherries and syrups need to be refrigerated as everything is fresh with no preservatives 🙂

So delicious. Made the grenadine and maraschino cherries one day and then the Shirley temples a couple days later. We loved it.
