Dairy Free Hot Chocolate
This chocolatey smooth hot chocolate tastes completely indulgent, but it is made with real ingredients and is naturally sweetened, so you can enjoy this cold weather staple treat without the artificial ingredients and tons of added sugars. And, if you haven’t caught on yet, there’s no dairy either!
If you have five minutes and the five ingredients this recipes calls for, you’ve got yourself a quick and comforting winter pick-me-up perfect for present wrapping, Netflix binging, or even work from home-ing.
Make it Your Own
As always, you can change up the recipe to meet your needs. I always love to add in any of my favorite super food powders or sneak in protein whenever I can. For this recipe, sometimes I will swap the cocoa powder and natural sweetener for my favorite collagen brand’s chocolate flavor. Dairy Free Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut milk
- ½ cup vanilla almond milk (I use MALK Organics)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp cacao/cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp honey/maple syrup
Toppings
- coconut whip
- marshmallows
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a pot in the stove over medium low heat and whisk until fully combined. I use my hand held milk frother, but a whisk will work as well.
- Once warm, pour into your favorite mug and top with coconut whip and marshmallows if you’d like!
