Total Time 10 minutes mins
Servings: 1 latte

Ingredients Method Notes

Ingredients

Cherry Simple Syrup
  • 2 cups cherries, pitted (I use frozen)
  • ½ cup sugar or monk fruit
  • ½ cup water
Cherry Vanilla Iced Latte
  • ½ cup cold brew (or 2 shots chilled espresso)
  • ½ cup vanilla almond milk (I use Califia Farms)
  • 2 tbsp vanilla almond creamer (I use Califia Farms)
  • 2-3 tbsp homemade cherry simple syrup (more or less to taste depending on sweetness preference)

Method

Cherry Simple Syrup
  1. Combine cherries, water and sugar or monk fruit in a pot on the stove over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a slight simmer and keep an eye on the mixture, mixing lightly and pressing down on the cherries as the sugar dissolves.
  3. Once the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture has thickened, your simple syrup is done!
  4. Strain the syrup into a resealable glass container leaving out the cherries and let cool before using it for your drinks.
Cherry Vanilla Iced Latte
  1. Fill your favorite glass with ice, then pour in your desired amount of cherry syrup.
  2. Next, froth together the milk and creamer using a milk frother. You can skip this step if you don't have one!
  3. Pour in the frothed milk and creamer then top with cold brew or chilled espresso.
  4. Mix together and watch the beautiful pink color take form. Enjoy!

Notes

This drink can also be enjoyed hot, just forgo ice and use freshly brewed espresso!

My cherry syrup came out way too thin using frozen cherries. Did you let them thaw and drain the liquid before heating with the water and sugar?

I do not! You can bring the syrup to a light simmer next time to help it thicken a little, but it shouldn’t be super thick to begin with 🙂
