Burger Pasta Salad
Ingredients
Burger Meat
- 2 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
- 1 lb ground meat of choice (turkey, beef, chicken, vegetarian crumbles, etc.)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Dill Pickle Dressing
- ½ cup avocado mayo (I use Primal Kitchen or Chosen Foods)
- 3-4 tbsp pickle juice/brine
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dill weed
- salt, to taste
Pasta Salad
- 1 cup pickles, diced
- ½ red onion, diced
- 1 pack bacon, cooked and chopped
- ½ head butter lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 box pasta (I use Jovial Foods gluten free farfalle)
Instructions
- Cook meat of choice with spices and oil on the stove, breaking up as you go, until browned. Once cooked, set aside.
- Cook bacon according to the package, ensuring it is very crispy so that it is easy to break apart. Once cooked and chopped, set aside.
- Prep the pickles, lettuce, red onion and tomatoes, then set aside.
- Combine dill pickle dressing ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Cook your pasta according to the box instructions. I opt to do this step last since sometimes gluten free pasta can stick together as it cools. I also avoid this by skipping the rinse after it drains and stirring in a little olive oil.
- Combine all of your ingredients together and mix until everything is dispersed and the dressing is evenly distributed.

I thought this was really good! I’ve been loving the burger salad, so this was another good recipe to put in the rotation. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the butter lettuce, I think I’d add arugula next time. The texture of arugula seems better to me for pasta salads.
kaylaskitchandfix
That’s something I love so much about pasta salads, it is so easy to adjust it to meet your preferences! I chose butter lettuce for this recipe to play off the burger vibes, but I’m a big arugula fan and think that sounds delicious! 🙂 Thanks for making, Emily!
