Cherry Chip Smoothie

February 1, 2021 by kaylaskitchandfix 22 Comments

This Cherry Chip Smoothie tastes so much like a milkshake that you’d never know it was good for you and even has a veggie hidden in it! It takes a few minutes to blend together and makes for the perfect dessert to curve your shake craving or for a balanced breakfast when you add protein powder.

Cherry Chip Smoothie

When I say this smoothie tastes like a milkshake, I’m not kidding. I took one sip and was blown away! If I hadn’t made it myself, I would have sworn I was drinking something indulgent. But instead, I knew it was something that was nourishing me while tasting like dessert. What could be better?

From Breakfast to Dessert

If you’re looking for a new smoothie recipe to change up your breakfast routine, this one is for you! Be sure to add your favorite protein powder to ensure you’re having a balanced breakfast and to avoid a sugar crash.

This smoothie is so good that you could totally get your ice cream fix by blending one up. Plus, add a little whipped cream (I used coconut whip from Trader Joe’s to keep it dairy free) and dark chocolate shavings on top and you’re set!

The Cherry on Top

So, obviously there are cherries in this smoothie, but what else is it made up of that makes this shake looking smoothie good for you? Just a few real, whole ingredients!

  • Cherries
  • Cauliflower
  • Almond Milk or Water
  • Raw Cacao Nibs
  • Chocolate Collagen/Protein Powder
  • Coconut Oil (optional)

So basically, you’ve got your healthy fat from the coconut oil (aside from keeping you full, this also helps with the absorption of the sugar in the cherries), you have nutrients from the cauliflower (aka your veggie), and you have energy boosting protein from your protein powder or collagen to fuel you for whatever you have ahead of you!

For the protein, I like to use chocolate Further Food Collagen as it is free from added sugars, tastes amazing and is a great source of protein (and obviously collagen, too). Click here to shop it and get 15% off with my code “KK&F”!

LOVE! This recipe will now be on repeat in my household. It satisfies my sweet tooth but is nourishing! I was out of protein but added some unflavored collagen with 2 tsp of cocoa powder and it turned out great! Thanks, Kayla!

11/10!!! Truly tastes like a milkshake for breakfast (and who doesn’t love that). I even subbed out cauliflower for spinach to still sneak in some veggies and it’s been on repeat all week!! A must try!

I absolutely loved this smoothie! I can’t even wait till tomorrow to make it again for breakfast. Adding protein powder too didn’t even alter the flavor. It wasnt too sweet and it was very fulfilling. I have a lot of allergies so I made a few adjustments but I know it had to taste relatively the same. I did oat milk instead & used olive oil. I’m so happy I came across this recipe now! I feel like I’ve been missing out for years now!!! Thank you, Kayla!

You can’t even taste the veggies! Great for the summer when you just want something to cool you down. I love that is tastes like a milkshake, but there isn’t anything super sugary in it. This is a hit and will stay in the rotation!

Wow this smoothie is magic! I was hesitant becasue I typically hate everything with protein powder and I’ve never blended cauliflower before. But I look a shot and now there is no looking back! It’s sweet and there is a little crunch. Perfect as a treat or to fill that afternoon snack craving so that you can successfully make it to a healthy dinner. Will be blending on repeat!

We LOVE this smoothie. After doing the Whole30 diet and trying to maintain a healthier way of eating, I gave this smoothies a try and absolutely love it! My grandkids beg for it! Lol Even my husband said it’s the first smoothie he’s had that actually tastes like a milk shake. It’s a great treat when I have a sweet tooth and none of guilt or regret. Thanks, Kayla!
