Charcuterie for girls night? Groundbreaking. Charcuterie for under $25? Actually groundbreaking.
How Did We Get Here?
Whenever I shop for a charcuterie board, I rarely think about the cost and always end up being shocked at the register. Well, I’ve finally learned my lesson and realized that you can easily craft a delicious spread for under $25.
Tips
- In order to have variety, aim for 2-3 different kinds of each food group. I usually reach for a berry and a sliceable fruit, a veggie for dipping and a veggie that could sub for a cracker, a few cuts of meat and finally, a soft and hard cheese.
- When it comes to cutting down the cost, I chose to have just one type of cracker because let’s be honest, they are not the star here.
- I added hummus for an additional $3, which still makes my board under $30, but it is completely optional on my opinion.
- Check in with your friends. Are the a vegetarian? Cut back on or completely cut out the meat. Do they love fruit? Swap in an additional option and take out a veggie! The fun of a board is that you can tailor it to meet everyone’s preferences and make it uniquely yours.
These are the actual items I bought! Everything pictured is from Trader Joe’s (where you could also grab a bottle of rosé and make your entire night cost under $30), but you can find similar products anywhere!
